Annabelle's Ballet Recital

Annabelle's ballet studio has been closed since Spring Break.  They have just been doing class via zoom, which Annabelle has not really enjoyed.  They were allowed back in the studio the last two weeks.  Since the April performance was cancelled, they decided to have each class put their costume on and perform their dance in the studio during their usual class time.  Only one parent was allowed inside.  The performance also end up being the evening before we moved, so it was a busy week.

The theme of the performance was "In Grandma's Attic", and Annabelle's class were "Brides".  Annabelle loved her costume.  The video of her dance.

A few pictures from her dance.

I got to kiss the beautiful "Bride".

There were a few Covenant girls in her class this year.  I got this picture with Ann Holland Crow and Zoey Seale.

House Progress

Moving day is quickly approaching (finally)!  The countertops in the kitchen and secondary baths went in this week.  We are still waiting on the marble install in the master bath and downstairs guest bath.

Annabelle by the kitchen island.  They want to leave the protective covering on until we move in.

Because we took out the breakfast room, the island is huge.  It's 12' x 6'.  It makes our old island seem tiny.  We had a breakfast room at the old house, and we never used it.  So I decided to go with a bigger island and more seating there, instead of keeping the area for a breakfast table.

The carpet went down in the master bedroom.

A new chandelier in the dining room.

Kitchen pendants up, and the hardy board has been removed.

All cleared out and ready to move in!

The downstairs family room is ready for a tv.

The wallpaper went up.  This is the powder bath.

End of School: Pick Up Palooza and Portfolios

The end of school was a little anticlimactic, since zoom school was a much lighter load than normal school.  The school organized a drive through for the kids to get all their things that had been at school and for the kids to say hi/bye to their teachers.

Mother's Day and Charlotte's Web Presentation

Mother's Day was a little different this year.  Church has been closed since the first of March, so we just watch internet church on the tv.

We went over to the new house to check out the progress, and Brian took this pic of me with the kids.

Annabelle with a Lego set she put together.

The office painting is finished, and I just love the way the color turned out!

The Blue Angels have been making their way around the country.  We went to a parking garage along Central to get a good look at the flyover.

Despite school looking much different, they still had the 2nd graders do their Charlotte's Web diorama.  They were supposed to just use things around the house for their project and not worry about going to a craft store to buy anything.

Caden is 10!

I can't believe Caden is turning 10!  We are still under quarantine, so we have to hold off on having a party.  He is hoping to have a summer swim party.

Opening a few presents at breakfast.

Mimi and Tia came and dropped a present off.  I forgot to get a picture with them, but here he is opening their present.

All of his classmates made birthday signs.  Caden seeing their signs and singing "Happy Birthday".

Caden out front for his birthday parade.

I made a small cake with a basketball on top.  Sadly, I didn't take a good picture of it.  Caden with his cake.

The house is slowly coming along.  Painting is taking a little longer than anticipated.  Because of the COVID restrictions, their crew is smaller than normal.  A pic looking from the kitchen to the living room.

The kitchen cabinets primed.

The built ins primed.

The front circle drive was caving in and crumbling, plus we had noticed some drainage issues.  So we ended up having to repave the  driveway.
