Start of 5th and 7th Grade

I can't believe we are starting 7th and 5th grade!  It's our last year to have a Grammar student.

The kids are riding their bikes to school again this year.  They were not thrilled to have me taking pictures.

The 5th graders had a special first day that included a lesson on being the leaders of the Grammar school.  Here's a picture of Annabelle's class.  Back row: Mrs Walton, Larkin Brazeal, Graham Sayles, Christian Swann, Hannah Ratliff, Annabelle, Abby Hawk, James Edwards, Cohen Pace.  Front row: Lilly Stueve, Makenna Cleary, Maddie Castro, Caleb Baker, Sam Jeffries, Jonny Klinefelter, and Stella Stimson.

The theater project is coming along.  We should be painting soon.

End of Summer

We only had a week of summer left after our Colorado trip.  Anabelle and Hadley Tilger playing in the pool.

Annabelle's basketball team won a tournament.

A pic before opening chapel.  No more sailor shirts for Annabelle, and it's her last year in a red sweater.

Meet the teacher for Annabelle.

Annabelle is so excited to be in Mrs. Walton's class this year!

It's fun to see friends again!  Annabelle with Liv Larson, Katherine's little sister, Audrey Thomason, and Katherine Kingsriter.

After meet the teacher, we had the girls in Annabelle's class over for a pool party.  Left to right: Lilly Stueve, Hannah Ratliff, Maddie Castro, Stella Stimson, Abby Hawk, Annabelle, and Makenna Cleary.

Laura's 6.5 combo team won a tennis tournament this past weekend.  Always fun to be Dallas City Champions!

Colorado Trip: Part Four

We enjoyed some down time at the house.  The kids down in the creek.

And hanging on the deck.

Another hike.

We climbed down pretty far to stick our feet in the creek.

The owners of the house had kayaks that we used several times.  It was so peaceful to be on Grand Lake.

Another trip back into Rocky Mountain National Park.

A selfie on the deck before dinner.

Colorado Trip: Part Three

After spending a few days in Colorado Springs, we headed to Grand Lake.  On our way, we did a rafting trip.

Brian won the stay at the house where we stayed at a charity lunch raffle.  It was so nice.  The back deck overlooked a little stream and Rocky Mountain National Park was just on the other side of the creek.

On our way to dinner that night, we spotted a moose in their neighborhood.

We drove to the Bear Lake corridor area of Rocky Mountain National Park to hike up to Emerald Lake.  It was definitely the best hike of our whole trip!  There were several ponds/lakes along the way.

Quite a large area of the West side of the park was destroyed by wild fires two years ago.  It's so sad looking.  When we were leaving the park at twilight, we took these pictures.
