Spring Fling

Laura has been planning Spring Fling for a few months now.  The four coordinators: Alison Stueve, Laura, Amanda Sullivan, and Katy Cleary.

Annabelle's class is excited and ready for their last Spring Fling!

Annabelle, Makenna Cleary, Hadley Sullivan, Lily Thompson, and Hannah Ratliff ready for the games to begin.

Because of the forecast, we had to move the opening ceremonies indoors.

The 5th grade Super Hero mascot was Gas Man.

Outside to the games.  Annabelle on the inflatable obstacle course.

A pic during the snack rotation.

A picture with Mom and Dad.

Waiting for the next game rotation.

Halfway through the games, a thunderstorm hit, so all the kids had to head back to their classrooms.  Then back to the closing ceremonies.

5th grade celebrating their win.

After the lightning passed, our kids were able to get some extra playing time on the inflatables.

Caden's 13th Birthday

I can't believe Caden is a teenager!  Because I've been busy planning Spring Fling, we decided to wait until summer to have a party.

Caden got an iphone for his birthday.

Caden is now 5'6".  I decided to take a picture back to back, since I don't think he will be shorter than me for much longer.

Caden is enjoying his first season of Logic baseball.  There are only 3 8th graders on the team, and none of the boys (7th or 8th grade) have much baseball experience, so it's been a learning year.

Grandparents' Day 2024

As Annabelle wraps up the last few months of Grammar School, there are a lot of lasts.  And since Covenant Grandparents' Day is only for Grammar School, so this was our last one.

Annabelle's class picture.  Back row: Hannah Ratliff, Annabelle, James Edwards, Mrs. Walton, Larkin Brazeal, Abby Hawk, Christian Swann.  Front row: Sam Jeffries, Kaleb Baker, Lilly Stueve, Stella Stimson, Maddie Castro, Makenna Cleary, Jonny Klinefelter, Cohen Pace, and Graham Sayles.

Annabelle and a few friends won pickleball with the 5th grade teachers at the auction.  Annabelle loves this group of teachers, and she had so much fun!

Annabelle's teacher Mrs Walton is expecting her first baby this summer.  The class had a baby shower for her one sunday afternoon.

Easter in Philadelphia

We headed up to Pennsylvania for the long Easter weekend.  We headed to Gettysburg first.  Caden is reluctant to take pictures these days.

The Gettysburg Museum and Cyclorama is incredibly impressive.  The painting is 377 ft long and 42 ft high.  The way they light the scene and tell the story is so neat.  The real objects leading up to the painting make it hard to tell where the 3d ends and the painting begins.

After the museum, we drove to all the battlefields and monuments.

We headed to Eastern State Penitentiary the following day.  A selfie in outside the front of the prison.

Inside the hallways.

Over to the Rocky statue.

The kids and Laura ran the stairs.  Laura beat Caden by a hair.

Over to Valley Forge.  The kids weren't too happy when I made them take this picture.

A pic in front of Washington's headquarters.

A pic with the Liberty Bell with Indepence Hall in the background.

President Caden in the Constitution Center.

And President Annabelle.

Caden was not interested in taking pictures this trip.

The Constitution Center had an area where they walked through history.  A pic of Annabelle in living room from the 1950's.

Supreme Court Justice Ananbelle.

Pretending to be sworn in.

A few pictures with the Founding Fathers statues.  It is such a neat room that all of them are life size.

The kids with George Washington.

A selfie with George.

Next to Ben Franklin's gravesite there is a "Chronology of Benjamin Franklin".

We took a tour of Betsy Ross' house.
