Woodbridge

Since the Covenant boys cross country team has won the state championship for 8 straight years, they have been invited to one of the largest meets in the country.  They have been a few times now.  The top 7 boys are invited to go.  Caden was so excited to race and have a fun weekend with the team.  A pic at the airport.  Coach Golden, Cade Shepelwich, Gibson Walker, Charlie Averitt, Scott Stowell, Noah Verdin, Caden, and Henry Moore.

They flew in on a Thursday, and they headed to the beach.

After a run Friday, they were back at the beach.

Brian and Laura decided to go, too.  They flew in on Friday and headed to grab lunch on the beach.

Friday night, all the parents and the team had a dinner at an alumni's grandparent's house.  She was so kind to host us.

A pic with the hostess.

A saturday morning walk on the beach.

This meet is so big.  They have 50 races; some are on Friday night and the rest are all day Saturday.  Caden's race wasn't until Sat night.  We got a family pic before the race warm up began.

Some pre-race strategy.

Coach giving Caden some advice.

The boys walking to the start line.

A pic of some of the moms.

A pic at the first turn.

Caden at about halfway through the race.

After he finished.  He is beat.

Some Covenant alumni that go to school in Southern Cal came to watch and support the kids.  We took a group pic with parents, the team and the alumni.

Caden ran a great race, and he was very please with his time.  It was his first time to run 3mi.; he again was the 4th fastest Covenant runner.

First Pep Rally

The first pep rally of the year was fun!  They introduced the Cross Country team.  It feels like just yesterday that Caden was the little Grammar kid sitting there watching the big kids.

Annabelle and some friends after the pep rally was over.

Annabelle is loving volleyball.  Here is her official picture.

She's enjoying getting to know the 8th grade girls on her team.

Every 7th grade player got surprised with a big (8th grade player), and the bigs all made signs and gave them treats!

Caden's official cross country photo.

Caden had his first cross country meet running as an individual.  It was his first time to race a 5k, and he did great.  He finished as the 4th fastest Covenant kid with a time of 18:10.  It was his first time to race in spikes.
