Europe Trip, Day 2: London

We spent a good part of Friday on a bike tour.  It was really fun!  I had been worried about the weather before we arrived, and it ended up being great weather the majority of our time in London.  It did mist & lightly rain Friday at the tail end of the bike tour, and then it sprinkled throughout our time in the Churchill War rooms.

Our first destination on the bike tour was Kensington Garden and Kensington Palace.  Here we are in the garden.

And the back side of the Palace.

The Albert Memorial in Kensington Garden.

Here we are at Hyde Park Corner.

A view of Hyde Park Corner from across the street.

I was too slow pulling out my camera for the changing of the guard :(. But you can see them heading off in the very back of the pic, if you look closely.

A slightly better view of just the guards.

With Buckingham Palace in the background.

In Trafalgar Square.

Westminster Abbey.

On a bridge in St James's Park with Buckingham Palace in the background.

The view from this bridge is gorgeous.  Looking toward Buckingham Palace.

View from the same bridge in St. James's Garden, looking the other direction, you can see the Eye of London.

In front of the Serpentine in Hyde Park. If you look really closely, you can see the Diana Memorial Fountain on the ground behind the pond on the far right.

After the bike tour, we headed to the Churchill Museum & Imperial War Rooms. With a soldier/guard.

The museum was really well done. Apparently, Churchill loved wearing these "onesies". Can't say I blame him, it looks pretty comfortable. Unfortunately, they were not for sale in the gift shop.

In front of one of the meeting rooms.

Another work room.

No food pictures from this day. We had a nice Italian dinner at Cosmoba, a cute little place not far from our hotel.
