Hawaii Trip - Kauai, Part 1

Brian and I headed to Hawaii this year for our kid-free vacation.  We spent the first four days of our trip in Kauai.  It is so incredibly beautiful.

A selfie from our hotel room balcony.

Down near the water on our hotel's property.

The morning after we arrived, we were up early to head to take a helicopter tour.  Ready for take off.

We got lucky and were assigned the seats in the front row, next to the pilot.

Taking off.

Looking South toward the East side of the island.

A good view of the East shore.

Some views of the lush East side of Mount Wai'ale'ale.

A view of several waterfalls.  Unfortunately, I caught the glare off the windows in a few of these pictures.

A little closer view of the falls.

On the other side of the mountain is the Waimea Canyon, the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific".

We hiked to the top of this waterfall the next day.

Coming out of the canyon and heading to the Napali Coast was just breathtaking.

Views from the Napali coast from over the water.

From the North shore, we headed to the Wai'ale'ale canyon.

Leaving the canyon.

After our helicopter tour, we drove inland a little to hike up the Sleeping Giant.  Ready to start.

Taking a rest in the shade.

A view back to the East Coastline.

A picture at the top.

Looking toward the Northeast shore.

After our hike, we drove by Opeakaa Falls on our way back to the hotel.

At dinner near our hotel that night.
