The end is in sight!

We're almost done with our renovations/repairs.  The painters will finish tomorrow.  A few last touches have to be done early next week, and then the carpet will be installed on Thursday.  So this time next week, I can post some final pictures!

Caden is getting closer to walking every day.  Early this week he started walking holding on to just one of our fingers.  He's pretty cautious, so he maintains a very strong grip on that lone finger.  Here's a video of him toddling along earlier this week.

11 Months

Wow, Caden turned eleven months today; I can't believe it.  We measured him at home, and he clocked in at 26 lbs 3 oz and 31 inches.  He's getting so heavy to carry around; he really needs to start walking!

About a week ago, I found Caden digging in my diaper bag.  He found my wallet, and he thought it was pretty funny.  I thought I had a few more years before he started raiding my wallet. :)

Caden loves walking around holding on to our fingers.  Here he is on St Patty's day in some pj's I found on clearance.

He really likes holding the spoon these days.  He grabs it out of my hand, but has no idea how to actually scoop anything up with it.  I put some cereal in a bowl in front of him to see what he would do.  He held the spoon in one hand while he picked up the cheerios with the other.

He's loves crawling through small spaces.  Here's a picture of him crawling back behind the recliner.

He still loves pushing his truck around.  He's getting really fast.

Since Baylor and Texas had disappointing endings to their seasons, Caden's ready to cheer on the Jayhawks.  Rock Chalk!!!

Signs and new teeth

Caden cut another tooth this past week.  He now has four on top and two on the bottom.  He also got a new toy this week; sandboxes were on sale this week, so we went ahead and got him an early birthday present.

At first he just stood outside of his sandbox and began taking sand out of the sandbox by the handful.  Taking anything out of anything is a favorite past time of his.  But after I put him in it, he enjoyed sitting in it and playing with the sand.

He's getting so good with his signs.  It was almost like a switch when he turned ten months the signs just kind of clicked for him.  He's really good at saying "more" and "eat", and he started saying "all done" just this past week.  He has his own variation of the "eat" sign, but we know exactly what he means, which is the whole point :).  It's pretty hard to get him to do anything on the camera, but we did manage to get him doing all three signs this evening.  Here he is at the end of dinner tonight.

Our bathroom is coming along very slowly.  Friday marked three weeks since our bathroom was demo'd.  The tile is going to be laid this week.

New truck & Houston visit

Caden cut another tooth this morning, his top left central incisor.  Caden and I spent last Friday and Saturday in Houston hanging out with Caden's cousins.  He enjoyed watching them for the most part, but James was a little too loud for him at times.  James likes to yell and everytime he helled next to Caden, Caden started crying.

When Hallie hopped in the bath with Caden on Friday night, he immediately headed to the other end of the tub.

And then he decided he doesn't like company in the bath.

Jackson's 5th birthday party was on Saturday afternoon.  Here's a picture of Jackson blowing out his candles.

Sweet Abby drew this cute picture for Jackson.

Nana and Papa gave Caden his birthday present early, since he's ready for a push toy.  He loves his new truck.

Here's a video of Caden pushing his truck today.

Caden is such a "helper".  He took all the clean clothes out of the dryer for me today.

Caden is getting mischievous; he laughs when he knows he's doing something that I don't want him to do.  He loves the entertainment center, and he starts laughing as he's crawling towards it.  I caught him today with both doors open and pulling things out.
