Valentine's Day 2014

We had a busy week last week that included several Valentine's parties.  That gave the kids several opportunities to wear the outfits that I made for them :).

My sweet friend Sarah had us over for a V-day party Friday afternoon.  She was so sweet to snap pictures of each Mom and their kiddo's.  I rarely get in the frame with my kids.

Caden had fun in the trampoline at the party.

Annabelle had fun in their play house.

The weather has been beautiful this week.  I took the kids to the Arboretum today to try to snap a few pictures in their Valentine's outfits.  It's impossible to get them both smiling.

Being silly!

Outfit change...my beautiful, sweet Annabelle.

"Mommy wants us to smile...at the same time"  Hahaha...

Ready for another bribe (m&m).

My sweet boy.

Different location; one last attempt to no avail.  Annabelle with a silly face...

Caden with an overly cheese face, and...

"We're out of here!"

Austin Trip

Brian and I headed down to Austin last weekend for a kid free trip (thanks to Nana & Papa!).  Two of Brian's friends from high school conveniently got married on the weekend of Brian's birthday, so it was nice to get away for some couple time to celebrate friends' milestone and Brian's birthday at the same time.

It's been pretty cold this winter.  On Friday night it was around freezing.  Brian and I went for a sushi dinner.  The restaurant is so popular, we had to wait outside for nearly an hour.  Here we are freezing our rears off.

In typical Texas fashion, it was 70 degrees on Saturday.  Brian and I got out for a run before the wedding festivities.

Here we are at the wedding reception.  We enjoyed getting to see Kevin and Kelly, too; although, we didn't get a picture with them :(.

Elvis was there, too.

January Activities

This month has been so busy; I've been a total slacker with keeping up the blog.  We spent New Year's Day at a friends house.  The kids had so much fun.  Here's a picture of all the 3 year olds dressed up in superhero and princess outfits.

I think Luna was pretty impressed with Caden's "muscles", ha ha!  His little costume was padded; it reminded me of Mitch's costume on Modern Family :).

Caden with most of his play group buddies, and a few little sisters snuck in, too.

We spent the first week of January sick.  It started with Caden, and then Annabelle, and then Brian.  I dodged it...thank goodness!  On what should have been Caden and Annabelle's first day back to school after the holidays, we spent the day home in our pj's.  Here they are making flubber.

Annabelle was so grumpy.  Most of that day she would scream, whenever I wasn't holding her.  At one point, I had to put her down to try to pull something together for dinner.  I turned around and Caden had gone and gotten Brian's noise cancelling head phones out of the workout room.  Hey, where's my pair?

Here are a few pictures from a visit to the Perot Museum of Nature and Science.  The kids love the children's area.  Annabelle loves doing artwork!

Caden's Smart Start Basketball

Caden recently finished a 7 week introduction to basketball at our local rec center.  He had so much fun!  Here are a few pictures from one of his classes.

 Lined up ready to stretch.

Learning how to bounce pass.

Practicing his shot.

His favorite part, by far, was the obstacle course.  They ran through safety cones, jumped over hurdles, practiced (er attempted) dribbling, and then ended shooting a "free throw".  Annabelle definitely wanted in on the action.
