Caden is SIX!!!

I cannot believe Caden is six, and that he's just a few weeks away from being finished with Kindergarten.  This year has just flown by.  I have so enjoyed the extra time I had with him this year with him only being in school three days a week.  He is so tenderhearted and such a joy to be around.  He is very diligent and a very hard worker!  He loves Legos, playing outside, playing games, and playing with Annabelle.  He loves his new school and his friends from school.

He does not like getting his picture taken right now :(.  It was quite the battle to get these pictures taken.

And pictures from birthdays past...

Caden's Jake and the Neverland Pirates 6th Birthday Party

Caden celebrated his sixth birthday at ASI Gymnastics last weekend.  He had so much fun!

I made him a Jake and the Neverland Pirates cake.  Nana was the official photographer of the decorating process.

Annabelle was ready to help!

The kids like to play with and mold their own piece of fondant.  Mommy and Annabelle both working very intently on their fondant.

Covenant's Grandparents Day - 2016

Caden was so excited to share his school with his grandparents!  Nana, Papa, Mimi, and Tia were there for the event, and Grandpa was able to watch his performance via the school's web broadcast.  Caden, along with his classmates and the other three explorer classes, performed "The Timeline Song".  He played the part of "Elisha".  They did a great job, and they were all so cute!

All of the Explorers lined up ready to perform.  Caden is in the blue (9th from the Right in the front row).

After the program, we were released to see Caden's classroom.  He also took us to the library, music room, and the highlight was seeing the new chicken coop.  Caden and Annabelle with Nana and Papa in Caden's classroom.

Unfortunately, Daddy headed out early to go to work, and we forgot to get a family pic.

Nana and Papa came over the day before Grandparents Day.  We headed to the zoo.  The kids measuring up against the penguins.

The Monorail has been closed for a year for renovations.  After a short wait, we finally boarded the train.  First exhibit we passed is the construction of the future hippo exhibit!

The kids love the animal encounters.  If you look closely, you can see the snake rapped around her hand and wrist.

A close up view of the Cheetah.

We walked up right as the otters were being fed worms.  This was a rare sighting; usually they're in their den sleeping.

Annabelle requested her picture on the kangaroo statue.

Kitchen: Before and After

We are finally completely done with all of our renovation and construction projects!!!  Even though the kitchen has been done for a while, I hadn't taken the time to take pictures of it.  I finally did that last week (right after the maids came :) ).

A few before pictures.  I wasn't a fan of the colors of the old kitchen, but my real problem with the kitchen was the layout.  The old layout just felt backwards and really awkward to me.

And the after pics...I am so pleased with the way it turned out!  I love the way it looks, and it really functions so much better!  The view from the living room.

The stainless steel vent hood was a last minute addition.  I opted for this one over a white cabinetry one.  I'm so glad that I did; I really love this one.

The sink and fridge wall.

The hostess/"wet bar" area.

The view from the door to the powder room and laundry room.

We also made a few changes to the powder bath that's right off the kitchen area.  It was just way to cramped before.  Here's a before picture.  You could literally wash your hands while you were sitting on the toilet.

We put in a much smaller pedestal sink.  And we swapped out the elongated toilet for a regular size one.  It gives us an extra foot in between the two.  And we painted it gray.
