Caden's Shield Presentation

The second big project in third grade is to design your family Coat of Arms and present it to the class.  Caden worked hard to come up with his ideas.  He looked through a book about coats of arms, and he liked a silhouette of a tree they had in the book and the fleur de lis.  He also researched online and found an old Jolly coat of arms that had a yellow and black argyle pattern on it, which he chose to include.
A pic of Caden during his presentation.

A video of his presentation.  The white background symbolizes truth, which is important to our family.  The red cross stands for a Christian family and Christ dying on the cross for our sins.  The blue with a gold fleur de lis is for his French heritage (& because he liked the fleur de lis), the yellow/black argyle is from the historical Jolly coat of arms, the Cowboys star is because we live in Dallas and he loves sports.  The tree with the flags symbolizes his family roots from Scotland and France, and then our family today in the United States.

Annabelle is enjoying soccer this season.  She loves kicking goal kicks.  Here's a progression of one of her kicks.

Caden is still loving baseball.  He loves to pitch, and he is doing great at that.  The second half of the season his batting has improved.  He hit a double and triple in his last game.  Here's a video of his triple from Brian's view as the third base coach.
