Pool Progress: Excavation and Gunite

The pool is progressing.  Before they could excavate the pool, our incoming electrical wires had to be rerouted.  And our storage shed had to be moved.  The kids had a front row seat to the shed moving.

They rolled it along pipes.

We didn't want the shed sitting right outside our master bedroom windows, so we are extending the fence towards the front of the house about 5 feet.  Here's the final resting spot of the shed.

Here's a view of the new green space on the side of the yard.  They took away the slab that the shed set on when they excavated the pool.  They'll pour a new, smaller, slab for the pool equipment later.

Right after the shed was moved, Annabelle ran up to the old slab foundation and said, "It's a stage!  I'm going to dance!"

The Tuesday before Thanksgiving they excavated.

This is what the backyard looked like when we left for Tyler.

We headed to Tyler for 3 days for Thanksgiving, and then this is what we came home to.

It rained the entire Thanksgiving weekend, and there was flooding around Dallas.  Thankfully, our pool didn't flood or cave in.  The week after Thanksgiving they put in the rebar.  The hot tub and tanning ledge.

The pool with rebar.

Later that week they poured the gunite.

The entire back wall of our fence is down.  We feel completely exposed, and we are looking forward to the new fence being installed.

Last Friday, some guys came and tiled a portion of the water line.  The kids were on the patio watching them intently for 3 hours straight!
